AYURVEDIC TREATMENT FOR SKIN ALLERGY

In Ayurveda skin allergies are a result of “weak agni” or impaired digestion. A disorder in the digestion causes hypersensitivity to certain substances, which triggers the allergic attacks. Deposition of ama (toxins in mucus form) is the respiratory tract create obstruction in breathing and causes congestion, coughing and sneezing. Allergic reactions can be seen due to imbalance of the doshas which causes toxins to accumulate in deep tissues and can cause skin allergies. Restoring of the digestion and pacifying doshas help in the treatment of skin allergies. In conventional western system skin allergies are treated with administration of steroidal cream, and lotion, giving anti-histamine medications and autoimmuno-therapies. All these methods do not eradicate the problem from the root cause and there is a high probability of relapse of the disease.
